Judy Kellersberger, songwriter

Judy has written music and lyrics for over 100 songs. Her songs have been performed in cabaret and at commemorative and special events, memorials and benefits, and have been broadcast on radio on four continents. Judy loves to write in a variety of styles and welcomes collaborators and new projects as well as talented artists to perform her songs.

Among Judy's best-known works are "Tribute to the Hudson River" and "Tribute to a Firefighter," both of which have received major radio airplay and honors. "Tribute to a Firefighter" was co-written with country artist/songwriter Mike Black, who originally recorded it. In 2012 the Coleman Brothers, a veteran Texas country band, re-recorded the song, and it charted #1 on Cash Box Magazine on June 1, 2012 and then again on June 16, 2012 and has since been played on radio stations throughout the country -- both on International Fire Fighters Day in May 2012 and during the terrible fires of 2012 in the western and central states of the U.S. The State Fireman's and Firefighters of Texas (SFFMA) endorsed the song in 2012.

In 2013 Tribute to a Firefighter was played on radio stations all over the west, including the "Rim Fires" in California. The Coleman Brothers performed the song at the 2013 SFFMA Convention in the Woodlands near Houston, Tx. The song also aired in Australia and Europe, and it won awards in the Netherlands. It has received air play during major fires since 1995.

In 2010 "Tribute to the Hudson River" was placed in the permanent multi-media collection at Poet's House in New York City, the largest library of poems in the U.S.A. The song is presently archived in 35 libraries, historical societies and museums up and down the Hudson River Valley, as well as the Library for Performing Arts in New York City and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. In 2007 Pete Seeger put the lyrics of "Tribute to the Hudson River" on the first page of his 2007 Clearwater Festival Brochure.
